Clinical Psychologist
Northcote, Melbourne
I first studied psychology because I believed in a future where we all had the skills, space and support to live lives that feel contented, connected and worthy. Almost two decades later, I’ve developed advanced skills in offering therapy to adults (especially other gay men) who want to believe in that future for themselves, and learn evidence-based approaches to building that future.

In my 12 years of practice, I’ve learned from hundreds of clients who trusted me with their stories, and honoured me by sharing in their self-development process. I’m very experienced with using therapy techniques from Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR and Cognitive Behavourial Therapy to help clients experiment with new ideas, new ways of being, and new evidence that their future can be better and different from their past.

I’ve been told I’m a quiet guy with a soothing voice, but I’m outspoken when it comes to understanding shame, helping others to challenge self-defeating patterns, and being a companion on the journey to personal growth and healing for my clients. The therapy space with me is always non-judgmental, and accepting of your past, your present, and the ways you feel challenged about your future.

I love using analogies and metaphors to communicate ideas in therapy, which works great for clients who often think in those terms. My sense of humor is dry and a little goofy, and I’ve noticed that I often click well with folks who are on (or suspect) the autism spectrum. Outside of work, I love video games, reading sci-fi/fantasy books, struggling to keep fit, and playing board games with friends when our schedules line up.
